Exploring the Foundations of HTML: A Reflection on My TLE/ICT Journey
During TLE/ICT classes, the basic understanding of HTML was achieved, including its many tags and attributes, all of which were regarded as necessities in structured, more aesthetically appealing web pages. Some things about spacing and separation through use of tags, specifically, and
and
, were learned. Of them was the HTML text formatting tag family for enhancing readability, such as giving emphasis to certain elements: , , and . Using text alignment attributes with such tags as
and
showed how balancing nicely contributed to a well-balanced and professional layout. Understanding the potential of adding background colors and images using attributes like bgcolor and background-image opened my eyes to how creative web design could be, having more interesting and personality-filled pages.
I learned about font attributes, such as font-family, font-size, and color, which further highlights how typography can make the user's experience even better. The tag for hyperlinks was interesting because of the interlinking of web pages and the ability to seamlessly navigate users from content. Even though the <frameset> tags are not often used in modern web design these days, knowing this really helped understand how older structures of the webpage function and have developed throughout time. Table tags, including
and
, taught me to systematize data.
