2024 National Children's Month: Safeguarding Our Future, Ending Violence Against Children

November is National Children's Month in the Philippines, and this year's theme, "Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, creating a Safe Philippines," is a strong call to action. It is a reminder that every child deserves to grow up in a safe and nurturing environment, free from harm and abuse.

The theme stresses that something needs to be done to address the alarming rates of child abuse and exploitation in the Philippines. These crimes do not only have terrible physical and emotional effects on children but also impact society.

As individuals and as a community, we should contribute to the protection of children. We should raise awareness on child abuse and exploitation, stay updated on its signs and symptoms, and inform the authorities if we suspect any cases. We can support child protection policies and how to access resources for the children so they can survive.

Through teamwork, we could build a safer Philippines for all the children. Let this be a momentous National Children's Month wherein this war against child abuse and exploitation could have turned around.
